How to understand this claim under the Global Theory Model. The Global Theory Model is the theory that modernity, the "light" given to "life" during the age of reason-for our purposes this is the period of time after the Magellan Line-is life after the extension of light-first extended to religions, then extended to sciences. The Global Theory Model is contrasted to the Flat Earth Theory model due to the new understanding of the Earth as a Globe and not as a Plate. The understanding of the Earth as a Globe is more than a change of perspective. It is a change in validity both for religions (theories of holiness,) and for science (theories of justice.)
During the Flat Earth period of time the conclusions of knowledge did not change. Knowledge of religion was not distinguished from knowledge of science. In fact, for most civilizations, conclusions of science were the result of the knowledge of religion and expanded upon it. To the contrary modernity separated the knowledge of religion from the science of justice, more formally known as science. Science introduced a principle of change operable in the physical world that differentiated species, and even thinking, one from the other. Sciences were distinct from each other. The knowledge of religions discriminatory of the truth arose during this historical period.

NASA makes the claim that the length of days is not fixed but is determinate on the amount of time it takes for the Earth's globe to turn one full cycle. The global model extends the astronomical calendar not only into the consideration of the Earth's rotation on its axis, but the orbit of the Earth in extended space. Foucault proved the rotation of the Earth on its axis in 1851 which theory was based upon work by Copernicus and Galileo, in science. Bessel proved the Earth's orbit in 1838, again based upon the work of Galileo. In fact, there are many presages of the Global Theory from civilizations that predate modernity.
A factual understanding of NASA's claim that the length of days is extended by China's Three Gorges dam is based upon the theoretical view that the volume of water held by that dam in that area affects the scientific determination of the earth's axis, thereby affecting the rate of change of the earth over its orbit. This claim may not be scientifically factual and may have more importance to politics. The problem is that modern science already accounts for changes to the Earth's axis during its orbit. These changes and the resultant equation which gives us the number of hours for the Earth's orbit and the number of days for the Earth's rotation are accounted for in the original formula. The second problem with the NASA claim is its contrariness to science's understanding of the water table. The amount of water on Earth remains constant. The volume of water cannot be added to or subtracted from. According to the theory of the water table water exists in three stages, liquid, solid, and gaseous. Although the concentration of water in one area or another may change, this does not change the amount of water. The NASA theory relies on the incorrect understanding that the Three Gorges dam increases the amount of water that exists, as if this extra amount of water is owned by China. My conclusion is that if this theory is being propagated by NASA it makes sense in politics but not in science. The opinion of this blog is that it is incorrect for our country to falsify science in pursuit of its political goals. It is the opinion of this blog that such falsification propagates hate. ,We discourage the U.S. government from pursuing the politics of hate against China and/or other adversaries. This blog wants to encourage the U.S. to encourage its allies and adversaries to engage in politics in the spirit of truth, the ultimate objective of which is world peace.
[Added 01/21/2025] I have reviewed the claim by NASA using Google to determine whether the claim, in fact, was not made by NASA but, instead, is a hoax. I have found reputable and credible accounts of NASA's position on the dam in sources such as The India Times, and The Economic Times. I also reviewed the official news account from NASA, found at NASA Earth Observatory (https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/images/6574/three-gorges-dam-china) This news account does not mention any of the facts reported in other online sources concerning the political meaning of the dam that I have concluded relies on bad science. There is no scientific thinking nor conclusions in the NASA article. The NASA report is only a caption for the actual photograph of the dam taken by the official satellite. News stories reference a single scientist associated with NASA. The scientist is Benjamin Fong Chao. There is no other NASA official supporting this view. There is no NASA agency making this claim.
In conclusion, I am dubious and/or skeptical about this claim and its status as a hoax.
